drug design precision, novelty and speed, yielding high value drug candidates.
Vitae's first and lead program is in renin inhibition, an industry target of 30+ years
for the treatment of high blood pressure. Vitae rapidly identified novel inhibitors
that overcame the traditional roadblocks of low bioavailability and high synthetic
complexity, paving the way for a potential new treatment standard.
Vitae's next program is in diabetes. This program has also advanced very rapidly and,
like renin, has been successfully partnered in one of the largest pre-clinical deals done in 2007,
a strategic partnership between Vitae and Boehringer Ingelheim.
